Setting Up a ShareFile Integration with TrueContext
TrueContext offers out-of-the-box ShareFile integration for field operations. To get started, connect your ShareFile account, configure access permissions, and define folder routing or data source options. Once connected, you can start automating both data submissions and pre-filled form inputs from ShareFile.
Data Destination
Mobile form data collected in the field with TrueContext can be submitted and routed to a ShareFile account. Data can be shared with a team or clients, or kept private. TrueContext can optionally route data to a folder, or a new folder can be dynamically created based on data submitted. The destination implementation supports the ShareFile MetaData API, which allows the TrueContext admin to configure data captured in mobile forms to be written as file metadata in the ShareFile system.
Data Source
TrueContext can also be linked to a ShareFile account as a Data Source. Data hosted in ShareFile (such as price lists, parts lists, customer contact info, etc.) becomes available for input in mobile forms on the TrueContext App. Additionally, with the ShareFile User Group Data Source, ShareFile Distribution Groups allow admins to organize groups of other users.
Supported formats
TrueContext supports a variety of file formats when using ShareFile as both a data destination and a data source, making it easy to integrate with existing business systems.
Data source:
Data destination:
CSV, XML, JSON, XLSX, XLS
PDF, Word Doc, JSON, XML, HTML, CSV, iCal, vCard, DREL, Freemarker
Frequently Asked Questions

Is ShareFile integration secure?
Yes. All file transfers are encrypted, and ShareFile includes enterprise-level security and compliance features, including support for HIPAA and GDPR. For more details on data protection, see TrueContext Compliance and security.

Yes. You can connect ShareFile as a data source. Files such as parts lists, customer information, or pricing tables can populate dropdowns or pre-fill fields in your mobile forms app.
How does ShareFile compare to other tools?
For example, ShareFile vs. Dropbox: For field service, the difference often comes down to the depth of integration and support for metadata.
